Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is seeking to appoint a Teaching, Learning and Assessment Governor to join its Board and provide strategic insight, informed scrutiny and constructive challenge on curriculum quality, learner outcomes, inspection readiness and educational excellence.
The Group brings together Castleford College, Selby College and Wakefield College, serving more than 10,000 students and apprentices. Governors play a vital role in providing strategic leadership, independent judgement and constructive challenge, ensuring the Group delivers high-quality education and training, remains financially resilient and responds to the needs of learners, employers and local communities.
As Teaching, Learning and Assessment Governor, you will help the Board provide strategic oversight of curriculum planning, educational quality, learner achievement and quality improvement. You will support informed scrutiny of the learner experience, outcomes, inclusion, inspection readiness and assurance relating to Ofsted and other regulatory expectations.
The Board is particularly interested in candidates who can bring:
- Strategic understanding of teaching, learning and assessment within further education or a related education setting.
- Experience of curriculum planning, quality improvement, learner outcomes, inspection readiness or educational assurance.
- Ability to scrutinise performance information and ask constructive questions about quality, inclusion, progression and impact.
- Understanding of how digital learning and technology can support educational excellence would be advantageous.
